The year is coming to a close and that means it's time to take a look back on the games we played this year and pick our favorite.
We figured it best to get right to the point and make what we've been saying for months official: Super Mario Odyssey is the best game of 2017.
While there were plenty of amazing titles in 2017 to choose from -- some like Breath of the Wild getting recognized as Game of the Year by the VGA -- we felt Mario Odyssey was the real winner.
Super Mario Odyssey proved Nintendo could revive the Mario 64 platforming style while still making the experience completely unique and original with Cappy and other new mechanics.
In Mario Odyssey you'll explore tons of worlds, solve puzzles as you find moons and coins hidden throughout, upgrade your Odyssey, and of course save the Princess from Bowser's clutches.
There's hundreds of hours of entertainment in Mario Odyssey, but even if you only play through the main story in one straight go you'll still have an amazing experience.
Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece, and a brilliant adventure.

This game hit me and millions of people like a tsunami.
PUBG is a good game! It has flaws like its potato build quality, but gameplay-wise it definitely had a big year.
Mario, hands down. Never have all of my friends agreed on the same thing.
