Warp factor ridiculous, number one. Engage.
Testing 1 2 3. Okay, this should be working again. Our comments database crashed last night. A quick SQL repair and we’re back up and running.
I blame the hats.
“WoW did it! …. it must be a good idea!! …”
*facepalm*
btw, is that a real scene from Star Trek… or a well-done photoshop?
I think it’s an episode where Q is messing with them. I’m not 100% sure though.
What’s the problem with the race change potion?
It’s literally the first thing ever offered through any item shop that I have actually considered buying. I have several characters that aren’t ratongas but should be.
I agree. I think it’s a great idea for anyone wanting a change of scenery on their main character.
I’m with everyone else what is the big deal?
I actually don’t mind this sort of micotransaction – it doesn’t effect the gameplay, it’s not essential by any means and really only adds a bit of fluff to the game. No problems from me about it. I’d rather that than being forced to pay for respecs… *cough* Cryptic….
It’s a potion that changes your race and they’re hocking it like it’s a bottle of Mountain Dew. Microtransactions, especially ones like this, are a further reminder of the lack of permanence in these games today.
tbh not as big a deal as wow’s faction change service when there are only two factions. Besides this isn’t really a game going for that kind of permanence is it? Its just another themeparkish mmo.
Actually, it meets a very real need that was introduced one or two Live Updates back: SOE revamped racial abilities (again). A lot of players choose their crafters based on their crafting-related racial abilities. This gives anyone who is unhappy with their new racial abilities the chance to switch to a “better” race.
That being said, the marketing hyperbole is a bit silly. Then again, the Marketing classes in my MBA program were always full of all the dumbest people in the program. Draw your own conclusions….
