PotBS is trimming the sails already – Updated Server list

The original list of 18 servers did seem a bit bloated given the projected population guesstimates people have been making.  Look at it as a good thing that FLS realizes the need for change early and isn’t afraid to make changes to resolve the problem or jump ship if you think all hope is lost!  The choice is yours.

Updated Server List:

US
Blackbeard
Rackham
Morgan
Kidd
Antigua
Guadeloupe
Bonny

EU
Roberts
Bellamy
Hornigold
Bonnet

  • I bet Blackbeard will be the most popular server by a huge amount. I can’t imagine that anyone would want to play on the Bonny or Guadeloupe server.

    Maybe its just me.

  • I totally agree with the ‘Blackbeard’ comment.

I haven’t actually played PotBS, so I wonder if they strongly suggest you go to a low population sever automatically, forcing you to jump through hoops (ala WoW) to change to a different server.
If they don’t, if they just list the server names, your 100% correct. Blackbeard will probably be over populated.

By the way, those are just HORRIBLE names for servers. They have all of pirate fiction, history and lore and ‘Guadeloupe’ is the best they can come up with?

  • I don’t know guys… wouldn’t it be neat to be on the BONNY SERVER?! Huh?! huh?! Okay no.

I’ll be on the Blackbeard server. 😉

  • Skullrock?

    Bloody Bay?

    Cannonball Run?

    Barbarossa?

    Sultana?

    Tortuga?

All better names and that took me 10mins of thinking and a few google searches.

Just saying. I’m just it’ll be a neat game.

  • At least some companies are being smart and having decent foresight instead of having to merge/kill a bunch of servers later on, hi DDO!

  • Actually, we realized it even earlier. The original list included servers that we’re deploying for other areas, such as Australia, which you’ll hear more about soon.

  • It’s probably a good idea to have a couple backup servers just in case they experience greater success than originally anticipated. Having a plan B in place is always a better idea than scrambling to react.
