LOTRO Vault Blogger Interview

The Lord of the Rings Online Vault interviewed three bloggers including myself.  We were asked a series of questions related to our blogs and LOTRO.

Q: Having your views heard, entertaining others, making some extra cash, and breaking into the industry – Of those, which ones are most important to you?

Keen: …Oh boy, that’s a tough one. First let me rule out the money making. My blog has never been about making money nor will it ever in any way be a tool in that way. When my blog first began I tried placing ads to counter the cost of hosting but decided ultimately that I didn’t like to look at them and I would be willing to bet that my readers surely do not like looking at them either. So as stands now my blog is actually a negative on the budget.  I would say that of the remaining choices, having my views heard is most important to me. I’m first and foremost blogging for myself because I enjoy it and I enjoy sharing what I have to say with others and hearing what they have to say in response is like music to my ears – it means someone is actually listening. When I write about something, whether it is original content or something else that I found and expand upon, I put everything I have into that piece. It’s important to me that what I have to say has a certain air of quality around it. I want what I have to say to be received well by the gaming community because that is what I love most about games. The communities we build around them and around gaming as a whole …
