I do one of these types of posts every time a game or expansion comes out with lots of questing.
Let me take a step back.
What'd you guys do this weekend? I played a lot of WoW with just a little bit of Overcooked 2 mixed in to break things up in the evenings.
During my foray into Kul'Tiras and Zandalar, I spent many hours rediscovering what it meant to be a hero of the realm. Every cutscene that refers to me, I'm the "Champion of the Alliance" or "Hero" or some really grandiose important awesome title. In fact I'm pretty sure we were saviors of the world last expansion.
What kind of things would a hero be doing in Kul'Tias you ask? Well, let me assure you it's all quite grand.

I transformed myself into a flower so that bees could polinate me!
I strapped bombs to a great sea turtle and rode around on his back with another turtle hurling explosives at people.
I soared over the skies on a parrot pooping on pirates!
And last but not least up against the infamous sharknado.
That about wraps up my weekend. That's the stuff of legends, guys. What were you up to? Any heroic deeds worth sharing?
The only issue I have with this is the entire idea that I’m supposed to be some hero. I don’t want to be the hero in an mmo, it just makes immersion harder to come by when I’m the chosen one among all the other chosen one….
I just want to be a warrior on the army of my leader, sure it’s cool when my warchief gives me props on a mission well done, but I know I wasn’t the only one doing it and when the game seems to forget that its just jarring to me.
