Check Out Moss for PSVR

If you own a PS4 (likely you'll need the Pro version) and a PSVR, then you should check out Moss.

I was over at Graev's watching him play today, and I thought I'd pass along the recommendation for a neat virtual reality adventure.

Moss is a virtual reality puzzle platformer / adventure-ish kind of game.

Quill, a young mouse with dreams of greatness beyond the confines of her quiet forest settlement. One day while exploring the woods, she finds a mysterious Glass Relic and an ancient magic is awakened. Dramatic events quickly unfold as a distant evil extends its reach. With her uncle now in grave danger, Quill must embark on an epic journey—and she needs you there by her side. Together, you'll travel to forgotten realms, solve challenging puzzles, and battle menacing enemies. Alone, no one can conquer what you're up against. But united, you just may defeat even the darkest of villains. Immerse yourself in the world of Moss to help write the story of a hero in the making.

The game controls using the Dualshock controller (the standard PS4 controller for the uninitiated) yet it uses the PSVR headset to provide a new twist on gameplay.

You'll interact with the environment to help Quill traverse the world, and directly manipulate the field of player in a variety of ways.

The visuals and presentation are quite charming.

One critique I have is that this is only in VR. I don't see why. I think Moss could easily pull off interactivity using the Playstation Camera without forcing you to wear the headset. As Penny Arcade's Gabe points out, VR makes some people horribly sick from playing or giving others (like myself) bad headaches.

Using the standard controller, this should have been a VR optional game. Otherwise, a charming journey that makes you just wish you could hug and squeeze that cute little mouse.

There's a demo on the PS4 shop if you download the PSVR demo disc 2. You'll find Moss' demo in there to try out before you buy.
