Quick Look at Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Whew, I almost didn’t get a post up today! I was in the middle of playing Uncharted: The Lost Legacy when I realized it was almost time for bed and I hadn’t yet posted something.

I’m going to completely play through the game before writing up a review, but since today is launch day and some of you might be contemplating whether or not to pick up Lost Legacy, I figured it’s worth sharing some thoughts.

I’m playing the PS4 version of an original PS4 – not a ‘Pro’ version of the console – and the game looks great. So far, after several hours, I really haven’t noticed any game breaking performance issues. Nothing glaring. A few graphical mishaps (mostly textures being blurry at one part in the very beginning).

Lost Legacy controls like Uncharted 4, and feels very fluid. So far the game is doing a good job at making me believe I’m in control of the scene, when in reality I’m experienced enough with the series to recognize I’m cleverly being taken on a journey.

Gunplay is pretty good, though the game takes a while to get you there. Lots of story, exploring, talking, and cinematography as always.

Chloe is a fun character. I’ve grown to enjoy Claudia Black’s style (did in SG-1 too) with how she handles these rogue-like heroine. I think she’ll continue to grow on me, while I don’t care much for Nadine.

I’m only a few hours in, but my early impression instincts say you should go for it.
