Our Pick for Best of Show at E3 2012

This may sound like a weird pick.  You’d expect one of the AAA well known titles like all the major sites are picking, but we’re going a different direction. Out of all the games shown at E3, the game we want to play the most, and wish we had in front of us right now, is LEGO City: Undercover.

For the first time, the fan-favorite LEGO City vehicles and play sets come to life in LEGO® City: Undercover, exclusively for the new Wii U console. Players assume the identity of Chase McCain, an undercover detective armed with clever disguises. The mission is to put a stop to the fiendish Rex Fury and end his crime wave in LEGO City. As players run, drive and even fly through the city, they’ll use the Wii U GamePad controller as a new police gadget.

  • Open world exploration in a LEGO city that reminds us of something out of Grand Theft Auto’s sandbox city style.
  • Wii U controller gameplay shown appears feasible and fun
  • More than 100 vehicles

What was your choice for Best of Show?

  • Watch Dogs, hands down. The graphics are amazing, the concept is intriguing, the gameplay is just my style with a mix of stealth, gadgets, shooting and explosions.

I’m REALLY not a Lego fan, at least as far as video games, so I can’t say much about your pick.

  • Im with Kemwer, Watch Dogs blew me away! That said…

Well done on pointing this one out! I wasn’t aware of it and it looks great! Watch Dogs has a lot of coverage already so i’m glad to now know about this title.

  • Without a doubt Watch Dogs. A brand new fresh IP and some very different awesome gameplay mechanics. I can not wait for this release.

  • I agree Watch Dogs could be great game, but we must wait because there was some great trailers in past but bad games..

  • So many people are loving Watch Dogs. I must have missed some videos out there with more gameplay. What I saw looked slow and uninteresting. I’m going to go look for some vids now.

  • watchdogs draws alot of love from anyone paying attention to technology right now in the hands of government. it looks so real as compared to GTA.
