Yes, you know it’s tongue-in-cheek day when every game/developer/fansite/funny guy with internet access tries to be sincere about something that everyone knows is actually a joke. I wish it were that simple. The day has even evolved into a day which keeps us guessing. Is it a joke or is it not? We have arrived at some middle ground between the antithesis of funny and tongue-in-cheek; a position so circular in logic that I find myself unable to resist passing out rewards for the best and worst April Fools Days Joke Humor Crap Announcement Whatever.
The award for best ‘whatever’ on this, April 1, 2009: Tongue-in-Cheek day….
Blizzard Entertainment’s conglomerate of high production quality stuff for every game IP they own!
The Best of the Best:Â The Transformer/Power Ranger SC2 thingy!
The Worst of the Best: The worst compilation of references to dance while trying to hard to come up with something for WoW! I can’t even bring myself to linking a picture.
Oh, and the Archivist was great. Shhh!
The award for Falling So Far From The Top Compared To Last Year on this, April 1, 2009: Tongue-in-Cheek day….
IGN’s fail at adding blood to Super Mash Bros:Â Brawl Expanded!
Compared to last year’s amazing Zelda movie trailer, this year’s effort is embarrassing. Oh well, maybe next year I will invent a “He who was the best, then the worst, then the best again!” award.
FIRST!!111!1
Just kidding…
I did absolutely love how the entire WoW forums were (with the exception of customer support)forced to talk like Roll-Players.
Oh and a nice supply of Irony too! The RP forums were forced to talk with lolcats!
Good stuff.
Blizzard always do the best jokes!
Goblin tinker being real was my favorite.
Personally, I was a fan of Gamespots joke.
“The new character that you can play in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2?”
“Aunt May!”
How could you miss that the Starcraft 2 joke was a reference to Voltron? Was Dr. Ron Volt not obvious enough?
Could you point out where I missed that reference? O.o In fact, I believe I said “Transformer” which is damn near the same thing and even picked up on the power ranger references as well.
i agree, nearly all fool jokes are just rubbish. However i feel compelled to offer this one as the best i have seen in a long time. Surprisingly its on the BBC website
this is the explanation of the trick. Although a few mins long it is worth it.

and this is the link you need to run the trick (2mins long)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/videohub/esptest.shtml
as far as i know this is an original trick.
Terra-tron was not only the best of the April Fools, the video of it fighting actually made me wish it were real.
