I’m a slacker. What have I been up to?

Hey all! I apologize for being a total slacker the past few days. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to write something completely profound or ground breaking but I truly haven’t had anything inspiring to write about. Over the weekend I didn’t do much other than LOTRO and BF2142. I’m currently really deeply involved in the community of monster players on the Meneldor server and it’s so addicting that I have neglected my other games – well other than BF2142. Graev asked me on Friday if I wanted to give BF2142 another try since his computer was upgraded between the time we originally played and now.

As always usual I am willing to try games that I have in the past played and put down. Battlefield 2142, the latest game in the Battlefield franchise, was a big release for me back in late 2006. I eagerly awaited playing the game and I did in fact play it more than any previous BF game. I believe the rank system played a large role in why I was so into BF2142. Unlike previous games you are actually rewarded for gaining ranks in battle because without them you won’t have access to the awesome unlocks. These unlocks can be guns, larger ammo clips, longer sprinting, etc. You have the edge in combat if you’re the one with these upgrades. I played to the very last rank of Brig. General giving me every possible upgrade and basically making me a badass. Anyway enough of my awesomeness and back to my story. 😉 Graev wanted to play BF2142 so we found his discs and I launched up EA Link (I bought it digitally). To my surprise EA Link somehow had the 2gig of install files in a cache and I was able to just immediately install. So that’s one thing I did this week.

Now on to LOTRO! There’s a lot to discuss here because it’s become a passion of mine. Yep I’m talking about monster play (or PVMP). As you know by reading my previous blog entries I have an Orc Reaver. Reavers are a melee class and have absolutely zero ability to attack at range which is a huge downside to their high damage. Over the past few days as I’ve been playing Neeknaem I have noticed more and more that I am simply not even able to get into attack range 20% of the time. The majority of skirmishes in the Ettenmoors occur near some form of guard or npc that is aggro to the creeps. Why? Because Freeps are cowardly rat-like folk who hug their guards like children to their mommies. *ahem* So anyway I was fed up with sitting back and the result was my death … not one… not two.. but 16 deaths in one night. I had enough of that crap and rerolled a Black Arrow. A Black Arrow or BA for short are the only true ranged class that monsters have. They use a bow and have several ranged abilities such as fire arrows, volley, and other cool abilities. So having made my BA and playing him all day yesterday I actually surprised myself and made it 60% to Rank 2. Right now he’s a blast to play and already making a name for himself. His name you ask? Sticking with my originality I named him Neeknaemba.

So that’s what I have been up to! I hope to be inspired more this week and keep you all updated (yeah yeah I can’t spell).
