StarCraft 2 – “Hell, it’s about time!”

Thank you Blizzard Entertainment! Long have I waited for your return to the throne as kings in this confusing and dark age of gaming. I had my doubts, as my readers can tell over the past few days, as to whether or not StarCraft2 could possibly become a reality after such a juggernaut MMO. My faith has been restored in the future of gaming just knowing that they still have the desire to release more than “games for the masses”.

“Featuring a unique single-player campaign that picks up where StarCraft: Brood War left off, StarCraft II will present a cast of new heroes and familiar faces in an edgy sci-fi story filled with adventure and intrigue. In addition, Blizzard will again offer unparalleled online play through Battle.net, the company’s world-renowned gaming service, with several enhancements and new features to make StarCraft II the ultimate competitive real-time strategy game.

Looking through their StarCraft2 Website you will find gorgeous screenshots, movies, a FAQ, and all sorts of goodies to get your heart racing. The downside of course to all of this is that Blizzard’s infamous release date of “when it’s done” is all we have to go by. But that’s a good thing simply because Blizzard has yet to ever release a game that isn’t finished. I’m psyched! I can’t wait for more information to be released!

  • The only thing that worries me about SCII is that at first glance it looks pretty much like SCI with prettier visuals. I hope there’s more added than a few units after nearly 10 years time.

  • Those might not be final visuals/UI. I remember Warcraft III looking slightly different from beta to release.
