A Link Between Worlds

A more traditional Zelda title that brings back the 2D overhead gameplay of old while incorporating great three-dimensional visuals and effects courtesy of the 3DS. The game is somewhat of a sequel to the classic Super Nintendo game and takes place in the same overworld and introduces the new Kingdom of Lorule and Princess Hilda. Link must utilize his knew ability to become a portrait on a wall to cross between worlds and save the day. You will no longer have to conquer dungeons in a linear order with the introduction of item renting, which lets you gain access to series staples like the bow, hookshot, and boomerang almost right away. Pokemon X/Y

Anyone who has even said that the Pokemon series has grown stale need only be shone this. X & Y are the most significant entries in the series in quite a long time. The world and characters are now all in 3D, along with the battles. See your Pokemon fight like never before and explore the regions from perspectives never seen in the series. Now it’s easier than ever to fully train pokemon thanks to the new training modes which makes raising and keeping track of stat EVs incredibly simple. There are also tons of online features and ways to connect with other players. It’s more than we could have asked for.

Mario & Luigi Dream Team

The last hope for any kind of Mario RPG since the painful decline in the Paper Mario series. Thankfully the Mario & Luigi games are still going strong and still as good as ever. Explore the new regions of the Pi’illo island and learn about the mysterious pillow-like residents who used to live there. Enter the dream world of Luigi and use new Dream Powers to fight with a whole horde of Luigis in fun and imaginative ways. For more info read our full review here!

Shin Megami Tensei IV

An excellent RPG that difficult but rewarding. You play as a Samurai and make pacts with demons to fight on your behalf. It’s reminiscent of Pokemon in that regard but you can also fuse together demons to make more powerful allies. The game takes place in and around (Technically Above) a kind of post-apocalyptic Tokyo where everything has gone nuts and demons are everywhere. The story is rather fascinating and there are three different paths you can take which affect the outcome of the game. It really makes you think about what is really “good” and “evil.” Philosophical kind of stuff. Shin Megami Tensei IV is a fantastic game, though, and very nice looking as well.

Animal Crossing New Leaf

They might as well call it “New Life” because that’s what it will be. Animal Crossing is back and as addictive as ever. You’ll still be doing familiar things like collecting bugs, fish, and fossils but now you can also swim and dive in the ocean and explore a special online island. Across the tracks from your town you will also find a city location with various shops that will crop up from time to time. Your character can now wear pants, too! Have I ever told you why I like to wear shorts in tall grass?
