DCUO looks more and more like it will have a strong future.
I hope in a year they put these trailers together and make a full animated film from it. To good looking to not to. The voice acting from Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy were exceptional as always.
My only problem is scowling Superman with a gravely voice is not Superman. Could he have more range of emotions? Lack of imagination from whomever called the shots on that trailer. Try exhaustion it would go well with the unshaven appearance. The several pages from Kingdom Come comic series is beaten to death more more so than the Watchmen's deconstruction-of-the-Super-Hero sub genre.
The scowl and the cowl belong to Batman. Its why Dark Knight Returns and Dark Knight Strikes Again work. It is the fictional character boiled down to its origin as a no nonsense post pulp era character but, who goes around dressed like an escaped lunatic. But Batman is portrayed with more range than Superman was mostly thanks to the great voice work of Kevin Conroy.
They should take some elements from reality such as the human range of emotions and facial expressions and apply it to fictional-fantasy representations. That would mean to concern themselves with pulling the audience in by being compelling and not the pop-culture definition of "realism" or "realistic".
But it has to be said again: DCUO looks more and more like it will have a strong future.
