Stargate Universe Trailer

It starts October 2 on Syfy.  Jack makes an appearance (he gained some weight) in the beginning which got me excited.  I'm not really feeling it from the cast they showed.  Something feels off about them.  It's almost as if the show is giving off a Battlestar Galactic vibe, and I hate that.  The trailer didn't do anything for me, but as a Stargate fanboy I'll be watching it for sure.

They should be so lucky to create a show as artistically and masterful done as Battlestar Galactica.

Parts of that looked interesting and parts of it looked like stinky B-quality television. It's nice to see them getting serious and trying to take the IP to a more meaningful, intense level that I know it is capable of.

If its anything like Battlestar Galactica, it would be a big success.

I think it has that "Drama in space" feel that I got from watching BSG, but I doubt it will have that little touch of something that made people like BSG.  Personally, I don't like BSG at all, but I can respect that a lot of people do.  I could never get into it even after watching 5 episodes.  I'm hoping this sticks to the Stargate formula that I have loved - tried and true 10 seasons of SG-1 and 5 of Atlantis.

Maybe it will be like Voyager for Star Trek.  It's people's least favorites, but I enjoyed it for what it was.

Now if they could just get the Stargate MMO back into action   Closed Beta had a ton of potential and was fun and felt different than the average mmo.  Unfortunately rumors say money may crush the game from a future but who knows, a lot of work was done on beta so it may still go somewhere.  There is even a split-second shot in the series somewhere where they are playing the game (seen on a clip from the Stargate forums).

I'll be checking out the show for sure.

I can't make up my mind what I think about this trailer. It looks mucho high-budget, though... could be a good sign.
