The Blowhole
Our listener mail section where we take the questions YOU submitted to us on our blogs and do our best to answer them with a discussion.

- Squigzog asks: “Why the bleedin’ hell doesn’t anyone know how to roleplay properly?! it seems not many people know any lore.”
- Belkoth asks: “What are your feelings on how some game mechanics restrict your ability to gain Tome unlocks? E.g., Getting the T1 Decimator set is impossible once you enter T2+, unless you somehow manage to win the loot as a chicken. Also, lairs on PvP servers. The tome also hides many related unlocks, so it isn’t always obvious what you must do next. Would you prefer a more transparent Tome?”
- Jay asks: “In trying alts on the other faction, I’ve found that the classes I most enjoyed were the mirrors of my Order characters. The DoK, SH, and Marauder just seemed to click with my playstyle. Do you find yourselves drawn to certain class mechanics like this, and how long do you give a new class before you decide whether or not to continue?”
- Warhammer42 and Vampiya ask: “WOW vs. WAR vs. AoC? How do you see these titles stacking up against each other in the next few months? years?”
- AndrewSquared asks: “Now that all the dust has settled after the combat and careers update, and we’ve all had a good amount of time to get a feel for the changes, what are your guys’ thoughts on the changes? I’m specifically interested in your thoughts on the relative power of the beefed up RDPS classes (Squig Herder, Shadow Warrior, Magus, Engineer).”
- Tilbert asks: “I’ve never been a member of a guild until I joined WAR when it was released. (he describes an apathetic guild experience) I don’t know if I expected too much based on the blogs that I read or just didn’t find a good match for a guild. The question is, what is the best way to find a guild that matches my style and expectations?”

this next 6 months or updates , to be perfect honoest are going to make or break war. In my community I talk with they all agree WAR is beter , they are upset it has less people. After this video update on the crashes, If we see improvements to the populairty and content ect ect. (they would be smart to fix this) we are comign back.

BTW WOW SUCKS ROCK ON WOO>!

Hi Keen, I have a completely unrelated question: I wonder why you have not done any blogging on Aion, at least not that I can remember? Considering how fast this game is gaining popularity in Asia, and how commotion it’s crating out here in the West, having a blog focused on MMO games and industry, I don’t think you can get away from formulating and sharing an opinion on that game. Or Asian MMO games in general, for that matter, because i am sure that where conversation is bound to lead. There is always been a lot’s of negativity towards Asian MMOs from western players, all in all, when you look around a web. I think the general consensus is that these games tend to land themselves much more havier on the side of grinding as in comparison to WOWs of this world. At the same time however, I think its also fair to say that Asian MMOs have a special charm to them, specically as it relates to graphics and animation, combat animations particularly appear to have very dynamic, almost arcade feel to it. And with Aion, some of these concepts have been taken to the new level. Have you had a chance to formulate an opinion on that game? I am very interested in hearing what you have to say.

  7. Fingo Says:

ohh on side note the Big Zerg guild crashing the server on purpose did push to IC rigth ?
i guess we where able to do it with lvl r*tard because destruction where bad ?

  8. Keen Says:

Yeah, you guys pushed IC. But you did it with a bug. Well done.

  9. Mossberg Says:

The Large guild you mention around 11 minutes into your pod-cast is Ruin. We joined Dark Crag looking for a Challenge. Many would want to join the winning faction on a reroll and ride coat-tails of success. We chose the path less traveled. We heard Dark Crag is the server where the big boys play and Orde was the major underdog faction. When we arrived there was nothing but a broken and demoralized Order faction. They never was able to push into a city and running with the defeatist attitude and ideas that “If we let the Destruction push into the city, we will at least have a chance at some invader gear.” Doesn’t get any more weak than that? /sigh

01/19/2009 Ruin, long time Hochland server rival with the help of some of these broken order guilds was able to breach the doors of the Inevitable City. Thats right. We went from “Let them win so we can farm some gear!” to “We can and WILLl beat them.”

Now, Dark Crag is no longer a Destruction ruled server.

…Is this the guild you feel doesn’t need your publicity? You are right, We don’t. We make our own.

  10. Mossberg Says:

The Hochland server rival that was mentioned was “Hate” brackets erased the name.

  11. fingo Says:

    @Keen

  12. Keen Says:

  13. Fingo Says:

Dude iot happen by itself destro too got that. We cant prevent it. Not our fautl we wish it wouldnt happen but it does. And tell me Since Ruin and there”useless” lowbie are there. those destruction doing soo well in T4 ? For some reason when i go on Warhammeralliance.com Forum i see alot of QQ about a mindless Zerg. Ohh dire irony
